Former Virgin Media executive director replaces Srini Gopalan, who left to join Indian mobile operator Bharti Airtel in June
Vodafone has appointed Cindy Rose as its UK consumer director. She will join the operator in the coming weeks, reporting to chief executive Guy Laurence.
She replaces Srini Gopalan, who left Vodafone to take on a similar role at Indian mobile operator Bharti Airtel in June.
Rose joins from Virgin Media, where she was executive director of its digital entertainment business for almost four years. There, she helped launch the company’s television service TiVo, as well as Virgin TV Anywhere, a service that enables TiVo to be used on smartphones, tablets and PCs.
Prior to that,, she spent 14 years at the Walt Disney Company and held a number of senior positions, including EMEA senior vice president and managing director.
Laurence said: “This is an exciting time for Vodafone, and Cindy will add great value as a member of the UK senior management team given her breadth and depth of experience.”
Rose added: “The mobile industry is at an interesting crossroads, and I believe my experience in both the cable and content sectors will be increasingly relevant as the customer experience begins to converge.”
