Vodafone CEO Guy Laurence resigns


Enterprise director Jeroen Hoencamp to replace Guy Laurence  in November 

Vodafone UK has promoted its enterprise director Jeroen Hoencamp to the role of chief executive.

Current CEO Guy Laurence will leave Vodafone in November to become president and CEO of Canadian media company Rogers Communications.

Hoencamp joined Vodafone over 15 years ago, first filling a number of marketing and sales roles in Vodafone Netherlands for 12 years.

He then spent two and a half years as CEO of Vodafone Ireland before becoming Vodafone UK enterprise director in January.

His replacement will be announced “in due course”, Vodafone said.

Laurence became CEO of Vodafone Netherlands in 2005 before taking the role of Vodafoen UK CEO in 2008.

In a statement on his departure Vodafone said: “During his time in the UK, Laurence has transformed the business into a more customer-focused operation, secured a network sharing agreement with Telefonica UK, integrated Cable and Wireless Worldwide and most recently launched Vodafone UK’s 4G service.”
