Manufacturer’s MD and VP for South Africa and southern Africa expected to head up UK and Ireland operations
BlackBerry is expected to name Alexandra Zagury as its new UK and Ireland managing director, sources close to the company have claimed.
Zagury, who has been with BlackBerry for six years, is currently MD and VP for South Africa and southern Africa – a role she has held for 18 months.
Prior to relocating to Johannesburg, Zagury held two UK-based positions, including senior director EMEA business operations and commercial strategy at BlackBerry between 2011 and 2012, and head of strategy and operations, managing Vodafone’s global business unit in 2008.
BlackBerry has been without a full-time UK and Ireland MD since Rob Orr quit to join Samsung in June this year.
BlackBerry MD for EMEA, Robert Bose has held the position on a interim basis since July.
