The Californian manufacturer will reportedly unveil its latest line-up of tablets in less than a fortnight, on the same day that Nokia is hosting its Nokia World event
Apple will reveal the fifth-generation iPad and iPad mini 2 at an invitation-only event on October 22, according to technology website AllThingsD.
The choice of date means that Apple’s announcement will clash with Nokia’s Abu Dhabi ‘Nokia World’ event, at which the Finnish manufacturer is expected to reveal the 6-inch Lumia 1520 phablet and the Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet.
Apple is yet to comment on the location of its announcement.
The iPad 5 is expected to be thinner and lighter than its predecessors and feature an improved camera. It will also run on Apple’s latest 64-bit A7 chip.
The iPad Mini 2 will be upgraded with a retina display and may also come in a range of bright colours similar to those available on the iPhone 5c, which was released last month.
