The operator currently has eight franchised stores, bringing its total to 22 out of around 600
EE is to franchise 14 of its stores, the operator announced today (October 16).
The operator currently has around 600 stores, eight of which were originally opened as franchises several years ago. This is the first time EE has converted stores to franchises.
EE said: “We constantly review our retail operations to ensure we’re offering our customers the very best service while at the same time meeting our business strategy as efficiently and effectively as possible. We already successfully operate eight franchise stores and following the latest review we can confirm plans to expand this trial by a further 14 stores.”
The move comes a year after rival operator O2 announced it would franchise 82 of its 462 stores this year, taking its total franchised outlets to 202 (full story here).
