The ethnic MVNO won the two gold trophies for ‘Company of the Year’ and ‘Executive of the Year’ for its founder Subaskaran Allirajah.
The silver trophy was awarded for ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ whilst the two bronze trophies celebrated Allirajah as ‘Chairperson of the Year’ and Lycamobile as the ‘Fast Growing Company of the Year in Europe’.
The Stevie Awards is an annual event that honours businesses of all types and sizes and the people behind them, recognising outstanding performance worldwide.
In the past 12 months, Lycamobile has continued its international expansion, launching into countries including Germany, Ireland and Portugal, ensuring it now serves 80 per cent of the EU population. The company made its biggest market to launch to date in March by introducing its service in the USA.
Allirajah said: “2013 has been a pivotal year for Lycamobile and I am delighted that our hard work has been recognised. To be named ‘Chairperson of the Year’ and ‘Executive of the Year’ is an honour, but the success of the company stems from my brilliant team of whom I am very proud. I look forward to working with my team over the coming year and enhancing our services to new countries and customers.”
Lycamobile Group chief executive Milind Kangle added: “This is a fantastic achievement for Lycamobile and congratulations to my esteemed colleague Subaskaran who is a visionary leader within the telecoms industry. The five awards emphasise the significant growth of the company over the past 12 months which was topped off by the launch of our service in the USA. I am confident that Lycamobile will grow from strength to strength in 2014.”
