Operators confirm they will sell fifth generation iPad from November 1 and new iPad Mini later in the month
Vodafone and EE have announced that they will offer Apple’s new iPad Air tablet with a choice of 3G and 4G contracts.
Vodafone said it will offer the iPad Air with Wi-Fi and Cellular on November 1, and will also stock the iPad Mini with Retina display later in November. Vodafone’s pricing plans have not been announced, but the operator said it will offer a range of data plans including 4G connections.
EE also announced that it will offer both of the new iPads from launch on its 4GEE network, as well as on Orange and T-Mobile.
Three said it will offer the new iPads, but was unable to confirm whether it would stock the devices at launch.
At the time of writing, O2 was uncertain if it would be stocking the devices.
Apple revealed the fifth generation iPad and upgraded iPad Mini at an event in San Francisco last night.
The iPad Air is 20 per cent thinner then the previous model and 28 per cent lighter, and features the same 64-bit A7 chip found in the manufacturer’s iPhone 5s.
The new iPad mini is also powered by the A7 chip, and will feature a Retina display.
The iPad Air will be available in silver or space grey, with prices starting at $499 (£307).
Prices for the new iPad Mini will start at $399 (£246).
