Antonio Tallon, who has been at HTC for seven years, takes overall global responsibility for all the manufacturer’s work within the telecoms group
HTC has promoted Antonio Tallon to director of its Telefónica Global account management team. He replaces Teg Dosanjh, who is leaving to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Tallon, who is based in Madrid, will take overall global responsibility for all HTC activity within the Telefonica group, including the development and implementation of global sales strategy and delivery of the two companies’ joint business objectives.
He will manage the relationship with Telefónica at an international level, and will also lead HTC’s local market teams that have direct relationships with the network’s operating businesses in EMEA and Latin America, including HTC’s relationship with O2 in the UK.
Tallon has been at HTC for seven years and has been responsible for product management for Telefónica Global across all the manufacturer’s devices and services. He also worked for HTC in the UK, where he managed the relationship with O2.
Before joining HTC, he worked for O2 itself, supporting the roll-out of the network’s 3G services as an engineer.
HTC EMEA president Philip Blair said: “Antonio brings a wealth of experience to this role. He combines depth of knowledge in the telecoms market and has an unrivalled knowledge of our products with strong client relationship skills and a strategic approach that I believe will strengthen our already close working relationship with Telefónica at a global level.
“The fact that he has the most relevant skills for the role, many years of experience working with Telefónica Global and with its operating businesses, alongside the fact that he is based in Madrid, meant he was a natural fit for this role.”
