Ethnic MVNO now in 17 countries worldwide, enabling Austrian customers to make international calls from one cent a minute
Lycamobile has launched its services in Austria, taking the number of countries the company has a presence in to 17.
The move allows Austrian customers to make international calls from one cent a minute. Other offers will permit customers to make free calls to other Lycamobile users both in Austria and in all other Lycamobile countries when they top up.
Lycamobile, which has 30 million customers worldwide, said launching in Austria solidifies its position as having the most comprehensive coverage of the European population than any other mobile telecoms operator.
It added the announcement emphasises the growing demand for its services, and highlights its rapid geographic rollout after launching in nine countries over the past three years.
Last year saw it activate its biggest market launch to date by introducing its service across the USA as the country’s first full MVNO.
Lycamobile Group chairman Subaskaran Allirajah (pictured) said: “Launching to the Austrian market is a significant milestone for Lycamobile as we look to expand our European footprint. This development, together with our roll out across the USA, highlights a hugely successful and pivotal year for the company.
“We are delighted to welcome Austria into the growing Lycamobile family and look forward to accelerating our growth with additional country launches as we move into 2014.”
