Manufacturer to release its first phablet across a number of UK sales channel from £38 a month on contract
Nokia has announced that its first phablet, the Lumia 1520, will go on sale in the UK from December 6.
It will be available from around £38 a month on contract from Carphone Warehouse, Phones, 4U, O2 retail Vodafone online and independent retailers via Exertis Micro-P.
Carphone has begun taking pre-orders for the device, offering it with unlimited minutes, texts and 2GB of data on Vodafone. It will come in black, white, red and yellow
The Lumia 1520, which was unveiled alongside the Lumia 1320 phablet and Lumia 2520 tablet at Nokia World in Dubai on October 22, is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz processor and runs the Windows Phone 8 Black operating system.
It has a six inch HD touchscreen made from toughened glass, as well as a 20-megapixel PureView rear camera with optical image stabilisation to sharpen images in dark conditions, and 1.2-megapixel front camera.
Included is an additional third live tiles column on the home screen, with the device also containing 32GB of internal memory that be expanded by 64GB with a microSD card and 7GB of free ShyDrive cloud storage for media files.
