Operator launches new range of  pay monthly and SIM only 4G tariffs, starting at £17 per month

O2 has unveiled a new line up of 4G tariffs as it continues to roll out the service.

The operator will offer 4G Refresh (pay monthly) tariffs from £17 per month for unlimited calls and texts plus 1GB of 4G data, while Simplicity (SIM only) tariffs will start at £21 for unlimited calls and texts plus 1GB of 4G data. The full list of new tariffs is detailed below.

O2 also revealed that existing customers on a 3G contract with at least 1GB of data who have a 4G-ready handset will be able to transfer to a 4G tariff for no extra cost. Existing customers who do not have a 4G-ready device can upgrade to a new Refresh tariff and get 25 per cent off their remaining line rental.

O2 general manager of consumer marketing Phil Maple said: “We are committed to helping our customers unleash the possibilities of 4G, which is why we’re introducing these new tariffs designed to give even more people the chance to experience the very best in mobile technology.”

The operator has switched on 4G in 13 cities since launching the service 11 weeks ago, hitting its 2013 rollout target six weeks ahead of schedule.
