Alcatel unveils quartet for devices at CES

OneTouch Idol X smartphone and POP C9 phablet, as well as the POP7 and POP8 tablets to be released later this quarter

Alcatel has announced a new smartphone, phablet and two new tablets at CES in Las Vegas.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ (pictured right) is powered by a 2GHz octa core processor and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It has a five inch screen, 13 megapixel rear and two megapixel HD front cameras, HD video capabilities and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded by 32GB with a microSD card.

The POP C9 phablet (pictured right) is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and runs the same version of Android. It has a 5.5 HD screen, eight megapixel rear and two megapixel front cameras, HD video capabilities and 4GB of internal memory that can be expanded by 32GB with a microSD card.

The POP7 tablet, which is 8.9mm thick and weighs 275g, is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor and has a seven inch screen, as well as two megapixel rear and VGA front cameras.

The POP8 tablet (pictured right) is 7.9mm thick and weighs 325g. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, has an eight inch screen and has the same cameras as the POP7.

All four products will be available in the UK later this quarter. Availability and pricing will be announced in due course.
