Manufacturer agrees to become official smartphone partner of the north London club until the end of the 2015/16 season
Huawei has entered into a global partnership with Arsenal FC which will see the two collaborate on Huawei’s promotional activities.
The deal, which runs until the end of the 2015/16 season, will be officially unveiled tomorrow (January 18) when Arsenal take on Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.
The partnership will see Huawei branding and content being shown throughout Arsenal’s home games. Huawei will also have a presence on the club’s digital and social media platforms.
Huawei will also gain access to Arsenal’s marketing database and will be involved in match day hospitality.
Furthermore, Arsenal players and officials will take part in the Chinese manufacturer’s promotional activities in both the UK and overseas.
Huawei UK executive vice president Mark Mitchinson – who had previously led Samsung’s sponsorship of Chelsea – said that the partnership represented a “brand match” for a club with the global appeal of Arsenal.
Arsenal FC chief commercial officer Tom Fox added: “This is the first global deal we have signed with a Chinese brand, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the market through pre-season tours and sustained digital fan engagement.”
