Latest device from Motorola now on sale at the retailer, with others to follow from February 1
Phones 4u has become the first UK retailer to begin selling the Motorola Moto X smartphone.
It is now available in black and exclusively in white for three months. On 3G, it is free from £25 a month on a Vodafone tariff with 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 100MB of Wi-Fi. On 4G, it is free from £29.99 a month on an EE tariff with 1,000 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. It also costs £389.95 SIM-free and £10 cheaper on prepay.
The Moto X, which was unveiled on January 14, will then go on sale on February 1 at retailers including Carphone Warehouse, O2 and Amazon.co.uk.
It follows the Moto G, which went on sale nationwide from mid-November, with an upgrade to the Android 4.2.2 OS rolling out from January 7.
The Moto X is powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz processor and runs the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.
It has a 4.7-inch HD waterproof touchscreen made from toughened Gorilla glass, 10 megapixel camera with ‘Clear Pixel’ technology that it said captures the darkest scenes or stop motion blur in bright light, two-megapixel front camera, 2GB of RaM and 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.
The device also includes voice activation service Google Now, as well as the Motorola Connect extension for Google Chrome that lets users see and respond to notifications and text messages from their desktop.
