Deal will see operator supply Premier Foods with airtime and Motorola smartphones, as well as fixed line services to all 35 sites
Vodafone has won a five year, multi-million pound contract worth 3,000 connections from EE to become the communications partner for Premier Foods.
The mobile operator will provide Premier staff with Motorola smartphones running the Android OS, as well as fixed line services to all of its 35 sites across the UK. It is also building a managed network to link all of Premier Foods’ sites.
Premier Foods supplies retail and wholesale customers with brands including Ambrosia desserts, Bisto gravy, Hovis bread, Lloyd Grossman sauces, Mr Kipling cakes, OXO stocks and Sharwood’s Asian foods.
It employs 9,000 people in total across the sites and in 2012 reported sales of £1.35 billion and a profit of £123.4 million.
Vodafone Global Enterprise chief executive Jan Geldmacher said: “By creating a combined communications service for Premier Foods, we can help to realise further value from within their business and achieve their growth ambitions.”
Premier Foods CEO Gavin Darby said: “Reducing complexity is a key part of our strategy to drive growth. By continually improving our efficiency and effectiveness we will be better able to meet customer needs.”
