Distributor wins the award for the first time since its establishment in January 2011, beating rivals Carphone Warehouse Business and Avenir Telecom
Daisy Distribution has been named O2 Distribution Partner of the Year for 2013. It was the first time it has won the award since its formation three years ago.
The accolade was presented to the distributor’s managing director Dave McGinn (pictured) by O2 business director Ben Dowd and head of partner sales Jason Phillips at the operator’s annual conference dinner on January 30.
Daisy beat fellow O2 Centre of Excellence distributors Carphone Warehouse Business and Avenir Telecom to the award. It said it enjoyed a successful year with “continued strong performance in customer acquisition, combined with low churn and a rise in customer satisfaction.” Daisy declined to provide figures to back up these claims.
The distributor was established in January 2011 by merging Anglia Telecom Centres and Daisy Distribution. Parent company Daisy Group bought Anglia for £17 million in August 2009, and followed this with the purchase of Fone Logistics for £3.6 million in June 2010.
Last June, Daisy bought fellow O2 Centre of Excellence distributor MoCo Communications for an undisclosed fee.
McGinn said: “Although we continually perform strongly on customer acquisition, our goal for 2013 was to further improve our retention performance in order to strengthen our position as O2’s leading distribution partner.
“This really is great testament to the hard work we put in over the past year and to the efforts of our teams and partners in delivering great business.”
O2 head of distribution partners Angie Simpson said: “O2 and Daisy Distribution have enjoyed an excellent working relationship in 2013 and our strategic alignment has helped forge a closer working relationship over the last 12 months.
