Firm to double operational space with move to new premises, with plans to triple staff numbers before the end of the year
Gusto Telecom is to treble staff and relocate to a new 20,000 square foot office and warehouse as part its “massive” expansion plans this year.
The accessory manufacturer and distributor is switching from Coventry, its home since its formation in 2012, to a new complex double the size in Banbury. Staff numbers are to rise from 16 to 50 within the next 10 months.
The move, according to its MD Joe Bennett, is down to the firm’s rapid growth of its Juice charging and speaker products in the UK and Ireland, as well as abroad.
Juice products are sold in more than 2,000 stores across the UK and Ireland through DSGi, John Lewis, O2, Carphone Warehouse, Staples and Sainsbury’s. Bennett confirmed Gusto has signed a deal with John Lewis for it to give away one of its Bluetooth Sound Square products with every Apple iPod the retailer sells.
Bennett said: “The deal with John Lewis and Apple is a massive deal for us.
“We’re going to press for expansion in all channels throughout this year, particularly in the mass retail and international channels.
“It’s essential this happens in order to cater for the bigger customers we are bringing on board and the increased demand we are seeing for our products.”
