Operator showcasing connected car, smart cities, mHealth and retail solutions
Vodafone is showcasing its M2M applications at Mobile World Congress 2014 (MWC), as competition in the growing sector continues to intensify.
The automotive sector has slowly gained traction at the Consumer Electronics Show with car makers showing off the latest connected solutions and MWC is beginning to follow suit. Vodafone will have live demonstrations of BMW’s ConnectedDrive that offers driver assistance, infotainment services and more.
It will also highlight how M2M technology is being integrated into point-of-sale signage and in-store displays, and its role in the growth of mHealth in Kenya.
Smart cities also come in for exposure with the firm’s applications in intelligent security, lighting and energy systems being showcased, as Vodafone seeks to position itself as more than just a provider of airtime.
