EE becomes a lead brand partner and plans to make home of football the world’s most connected stadium
EE plans to make Wembley the world’s most connected stadium after agreeing a six-year partnership with the Football Association.
The deal will see millions invested in the stadium’s technological infrastructure including high-speed WiFi, enhanced mobile connectivity and mobile ticketing.
A free app offering fans event content and travel information is available on the Android and iPhone stores today.
EE becomes a lead partner of Wembley and will be offering customers exclusive ticketing offers from the end of March.
“Over the coming months, we will announce an exciting programme of upgrades and innovations to the existing infrastructure at Wembley that will ensure the stadium offers visitors a world class spectator experience for many years to come,” said Olaf Swantee, chief executive officer, EE.
Wembley will hope the partnership will put it on a par with the San Francisco 49ers new stadium. Coming in at $1.2 billion, the Levi’s Stadium will be the world’s most connected arena with full WiFi connectivity and range of initiatives to enhance the second screen experience.
