Vodafone appoints Sir Crispin Davis as non-executive director


Group brings in former boss of publisher Reed Elsevier, marketing comms company Aegis Group and drinks form Guinness Group  

Vodafone Group has appointed Sir Crispin Davis as a non-executive director with effect from July 28.

Davis was chief executive of publisher Reed Elsevier from 1999 to 2009. He was previously chief executive of media and digital marketing communications company Aegis Group and group managing director of drinks firm Guinness Group (now Diageo).

He began his executive career at consumer product company Procter & Gamble, where he held senior management roles including president of the company’s North American food business.

He has also been a non-executive director on the Board of pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline for 10 years from 2003 to 2013.

He is currently an advisor to private equity firm CVC Capital Partners and was knighted in 2004 for his services to publishing and information.

Vodafone Group chairman Gerald Kleisterlee said: Sir Crispin is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience of international consumer markets.
