Manufacturer to supply players and staff with Galaxy S5 smartphones, with partnership announced four weeks before the FIFA World Cup in Brazil
Samsung has signed a deal with The Football Association (FA) to become the Official Consumer Electronics and Smartphone Supplier to the England football team.
The manufacturer is providing players and staff with its Galaxy S5 smartphone, which was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February and released on the UK on April 11.
Samsung highlighted the pre-loaded health features on the device as being beneficial to the team, including the heart rate monitor, with the deal coming just four weeks before the FIFA World Cup begins in Brazil on June 10.
To celebrate the partnership, Samsung has launched a competition offering England fans the chance to win a five star trip to Miami, Florida, including tickets to see England play Honduras at the Sun Life Stadium on June 7 as they continue their preparations for the tournament.
