Glasgow team beats 328 teams from 27 different UK companies over a six month period to now compete against other finalists from Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal
Tesco YPR have won the Samsung-run Galaxy 11 Cup five-a-side football tournament.
The tournament took place from November 2013 until May 2014, with 328 teams from 27 different UK companies competing across a total of 1,2000 local matches hosted at Goals and Power League Football Centres.
The final took place on May 15, with Glasow-based Tesco YPR beating West coast Galaxy SV 3-2 in the final at Villa Park in Birmingham.
They will now compete against other finalists from Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal in the European Galaxy 11 Cup, with the final taking place at Benfica’s Estádio da Luz stadium in Lisbon on June 2.
The tournament was launched exclusively for Samsung IT and Mobile channel partners as a way of thanking them for their service.
Each team to make the final stage was led by a celebrity football manager, including Sky Sports commentator and former Arsenal striker Alan Smith, ex Charlton Athletic and West Ham manager Alan Curbishley and former Manchester City and Sunderland manager Peter Reid.
