Statement follows speculation he was due to depart following increased scrutiny around Galaxy S5 sales and concerns around targets and stock placement
Samsung has insisted that its vice president of IT and Mobile Division Simon Stanford has not left the company.
Stanford was rumoured to be leaving the Korean manufacturer after almost five years after sources claimed he had come under increased scrutiny from the firm’s board of directors.
This had come following reports of poorer than expected sales of the Galaxy S5 and concerns around targets and stock placement.
There was also speculation that Samsung was having to refund and collect large quantities of unsold stock from a number of its key reseller partners in recent weeks.
However, the company said in a statement: “Samsung can confirm that Simon Stanford has not left UK operations and remains the vice president of the IT and Mobile Division for the UK and Ireland.”
