Samsung ties up Marvel Entertainment global partnership

Manufacturer’s products will appear in Marvel products including films from 2015

Samsung has partnered with superhero comic maker Marvel Entertainment in a deal that will see the two firms integrate their brands in ‘unique and creative ways’.

A multimedia campaign will run across film, digital and product with Samsung’s products appearing in future Marvel pictures. Its next picture is ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ but it is believed the deal was signed too late for this production.

The agreement was announced at the launch of the Galaxy Tab S series of tablets in New York last night, at which Mobile News was present.

Owners of the new device will receive three months access to Marvel Unlimited, a subscription service to Marvel’s digital comic library. ‘Sneek peaks’ will also be offered to forthcoming Marvel movies including Age of Ultron and Classic Marvel One-Shots.

“Partnering with Marvel gives us the opportunity to bring our industry-leading mobile display technology to life,” said Samsung executive vice president global marketing mobile communications business Younghee Lee. “Through visual storytelling made possible by Marvel’s outstanding entertainment universe, Samsung’s Galaxy users will be able to enjoy the maximum of our product benefits.”
