Dow retains position on distributor’s board and brings wealth of experience to the role
Andy Dow has been appointed as leader of distributor Tech Data’s Hewlett Packard Enterprise Group in the UK and Ireland.
He moves from his current role as head of marketing and retains his position on the distributor’s executive board. Dow has a wealth of experience in the IT sector having spent ten years at HP between 1994 and 2004. He was also general manager of distributor of Computer 2000 which was subsequently acquired by Tech Data and also had a one year stint as channel director at manufacturer Dell.
“I am pleased to announce that we are filling this key strategic position with an experienced Board Director who will bring his extensive commercial experience to strengthen our HP relationship and continue to grow our HP business,” Tech Data UK managing director Andy Gass said in a statement.
Tech Data Azlan, the firm’s enterprise division, has also appointed Gary Lloyd to the newly created position of director – Cisco and EMC. He joins from his current role as country manager of data storage firm Violin Memory. He previously spent 17 years in senior roles at the likes of EMC and Cisco Systems.
