Vodafone will allow Pay Monthly customers to use their inclusive minutes, texts and data while roaming as part of their new WorldTraveller service.
The WorldTraveller will be available to some business and pay monthly customers at the end of August. For £5 per day, it will allow travellers to use their services whilst travelling in US, India, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Ghana, Qatar and South Africa. Travellers will only be charged for the days they use they actually use their phone.
The new charges follow the introduction of Vodafone’s EuroTraveller service which allows EU traveller to do the same across the EU for £2 per day until August 31. Customers can activate either the EuroTraveller or WorldTraveller by ringing 5555 from countries included in the offer. Fees for receiving calls and texts are also removed.
Three dropped data roaming fees in favour of a similar service, but do not charge its customers extra to use their texts, calls and data abroad. The EU reduced roaming fees earlier this month by introducing new caps on the cost of calls, text messages and data charges as part of plans to remove roaming fees in Europe entirely by the end of next year.
