Head of mobile product and commercial and company veteran replaces Jamie Heywood, who has left the business after a decade
Virgin Media has promoted head of mobile product and commercial Annie Brooks to director of mobile.
She replaces Jamie Heywood, who has now left the business. He had been at the company for 10 years, having being CEO in China, deputy CEO in India and most recently director of mobile in the UK for the past four-and-a-half years.
Brooks joined the company ahead of its launch in 1999 as the world’s first MVNO, starting as channel development manager.
Over the past 15 years, she was promoted to head of pay monthly, general manager for mobile and finally head of mobile product and commercial, a role she has held for the past 15 months.
Virgin Media chief operating officer Dana Strong praised Brooks for her wealth of knowledge about its mobile operations and the industry as a whole, adding mobile is a key part of its growth.
Last week Virgin Media reported its financial results for Q2, adding 62,600 mobile contract customers to take its total to 141,200 so far this year – its highest six month mobile customer growth in four years.
