Smartphone available to pre-order from tomorrow with customers able to collect the handset from Samsung stores; on general sale from September 12
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will go on sale from September 10 at the Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung Store at Westfield Stratford City.
Customers can pre-order the device from the Samsung e-store from August 28 and collect it at the manufacturer’s retail outlets on this date.
It will then go on general sale at online and high street retailers including Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u two days later.
Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy Alpha smartphone. The latest addition to its portfolio will go on sale early next month, available in black, white, gold, silver and blue.
At 6.7mm thick and surrounded by a metal frame, it is powered by a Octa Core (Quad 1.8GHz and 1.3GHz) or Quad Core 2.5GHz processor (dependent on region) and runs the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
The Galaxy Alpha has a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, 12 megapixel rear and 2.1 megapixel front cameras, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. There is no microSD card slot for expandable memory.
Also included is a finger print scanner, Samsung range of fitness applications S Health, Ultra Power Saving Mode, which switches the screen from colour to black and white and turns off all non-essential services on the phone, as well as compatibility with the Galaxy Gear Fit, Gear Live and Gear 2 wearables.
