Sony has added to its Xperia Z3 Tablet launch, unveiling two smartphone variants, Z3 and Z3 Compact
Sony has followed up the launch of its Z3 Tablet Compact, with two smartphone variants, the Xperia Z3 and smaller Xperia Z3 Compact at IFA.
The new devices come in two size variants. The Xperia Z3 included a 5.2 inch screen (1920 x 1080), 7.3mm thick and weighs 152 grams. The smaller Z3 Compact includes a 4.6 inch screen (1280 x 720), 8.6mm thick and weighs 129 grams.
Features on both models include an HD screen (1920 x 1080), water and dust proof (IP65/IP68 standard), Android 4.4 KitKat, Snapdragon 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Quad-core processor, up to 128GB memory and NFC.
Sony claims the devices include the world’s best smartphone camera and camcorder. Features include, a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with 8x digital zoom and 4K recording, 2.2 megapixel front facing camera.
Sony’s ExmorRS for mobile sensor and BIONZ for mobile processing engine are also included, designed to make images sharper in all light conditions – including underwater.
The handset also include an improved version of Sony’s video recording software ‘SteadyShot’, which is designed to compensate for your movements, analysing dozens of backwards and forward frames, to predict your next steps and make panning smoother and images more stable.
As with the Z3 Tablet Compact, the Z3 smartphone’s also include PS4 Remote Play access.
Colour variants include white, black, copper or silver green. EE, Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u and Vodafone have confirmed they will each be stocking the two models. Pricing has yet to be announced.
