Three also confirms 200 retail positions are available
Dixons Carphone have said they will be opening discussions with Phones 4u staff concession staff with a view to securing their jobs.
The company’s chief executive officer Sebastien James said it would be “working quickly” to see what the firm could do for its Phones 4u colleagues.
This was immediately followed by a statement from the firm which said: “With regards to our Phones 4U shop-in-shop colleagues we hope to help them secure new jobs with us and will be opening up discussions with the administrators to agree what we can do.”
While that would save an estimated 800 jobs at the 160 store-in-stores, Sky News are reporting that Dixons Carphone will release a further statement that will announce 1500 job opportunities available to Phones 4u staff.
PricewaterhouseCoopers will be appointed administrators later today.
Three have also announced that it has 200 positions available:
“We are actively recruiting today – we have around 200 vacancies in our retail business for people with a strong focus on brand experience and customer satisfaction,” a statement from the operator said.
