Former Samsung UK and Ireland VP to depart the manufacturer, with his last day of employment on September 30
Huawei has confirmed UK and Ireland executive vice president for the consumer devices division Mark Mitchinson is to leave the company after more than three years.
Mitchinson joined the Chinese manufacturer in May 2011, charged with all of its sales and marketing activity in the UK and Ireland around handsets, tablets and mobile broadband devices. His last day of employment will be September 30.
Mitchinson said: “Huawei Consumer division has experienced significant success and impressive growth over recent years, and while I’ve enjoyed my time at Huawei, I feel it’s time for me to take on a new challenge.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my incredible team for their hard work and dedication. and would like to wish them and Huawei all the very best for the future.”
Mitchinson had joined Huawei following a five-month stint as group managing director of business, wholesale and distribution for Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy.
Prior to that, he had spent almost 12 years at Samsung, with his final role being UK and Ireland vice president for more than two-and-a-half years.
