Operator’s customers can buy codes to redeem content from Apple’s various online stores and have it charged straight to their mobile bill
O2 has enabled its customers to buy iTunes Codes and charge them directly to their monthly phone bill, or take it out of their prepay credit.
The codes, which can be bought from www.02vouchers.co.uk, can be used to redeem content from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks and Mac App Store. Codes are available from £10-£30, with customers receiving the code and confirmation of the purchase via email.
To celebrate the launch, O2 is offering customers who buy iTunes Codes through direct carrier billing, a voucher worth £25 for £20.
The method of payment, Charge to Mobile, is being used by more than 100 merchants in the UK through O2’s online and mobile channels, with 10 million transactions being made by the operator’s customers since its launch in January 2013.
The service is delivered in partnership with managed service provider’s epay and Touchtechmedia and with mobile payments company Boku.
