MVNO launches £5 SIM with money going to West Ham Community Sports Trust
Lycamobile has joined West Ham United in a partnership that will see the Premier League football club sell co-branded Lyca sims.
The sim cards are available for £5, including £5 of credit, with £2 of the money made from every sim sold going to West Ham Community Sports Trust.
The Trust, which has provided community engagement programmes in East London since it was founded in 1990, will also receive 10 per cent of every top-up made online during the 2014/15 season.
Lycamobile Chairman, Subaskaran Allirajah commented: “This initiative is another fantastic example of the commitment of both Lycamobile and West Ham United to the local community in which we both operate. We are incredibly proud to see our name alongside such a great club which shares our ongoing dedication to improving the lives of others through sport.”
Lycamobile and West Ham have a longstanding partnership which has seen them work together on a number of projects, including youth football tournament the Lycamobile Cup, which was launched last year.
Joe Lyons, Head of the West Ham United Community Sports Trust added: “Following the outstanding success of last season’s Lycamobile Cup, I’m thrilled to be working in partnership with Lycamobile once more. I’m sure this new West Ham SIM card will prove a hit with Hammers fans and it is of great credit to everyone involved that our local community will reap the rewards.”
