MVNO returns to sponsor UK’s largest outdoor ice rink at the London park for six weeks
Lycamobile has became an official sponsor for the annual Hyde Park Winter Wonderland ice rink for the second year
The Lycamobile Ice Rink will stay open in the London park for six weeks and at 1600 square metres, will become the largest outdoor ice rink in the UK.
The MVNO sponsored the ice rink in 2013, when it attracted 160,000 skaters. The Winter Wonderland attracted 2.5 million visitors during it’s six week run last year, according to organisers PWR Events.
The Winter Wonderland is being organised by events management firm PWR Events and entry is free. Tickets for the ice rink, which will be lit by 108,000 pea-lights on an evening, can be pre-ordered on the Winter Wonderland website and give skaters an hour on the rink.
Jon Rogers, Director of PWR Events said: “We are delighted to be working with Lycamobile again to create the Lycamobile Ice Rink at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of skaters to soak up the festive atmosphere.”
International MVNO Lycamobile is a pre-paid sim provider with over 12 million customers across Europe and America.
Lycamobile Group Chairman, Subaskaran Allirajah said: “After a successful debut in 2013, Lycamobile is extremely excited to return to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland this year. The Ice Rink is a prominent and much praised part of the event, enjoyed by many. We are a business which celebrates community and are proud to be part of such a great London tradition.”
Off peak tickets for the Lycamobile Ice Rink costs £10.50 for adults and £8.50 for children, while peak tickets cost £14.50 for adults and £9.50 for kids.
