Samsung picks up 80 awards at CES


List of prizes include eight within the mobile phone, tablet and wearable technology categories at the annual electronics trade event  

Samsung has won 80 awards at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 Innovation Awards. The annual trade event took place in Las Vegas last week.

The manufacturer’s Galaxy Note Edge, Note 4 and S5 (pictured) smartphones were listed as winners within the the ‘Wireless Handsets’ category.

It’s Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch models were recognised in ‘Tablets, E-Readers and Mobile Computing’, while its Gear S smartwatch picked up an award within the Wearable Technologies category.

Samsung said its award-winners represent the breadth of its product portfolio, including mobile phone, tablet, TV, home theatre system, home appliance, software and computer component categories.

Products entered into the CES Innovation programme are judged by a panel independent industrial designers, engineers, and members of the media to honour outstanding design and engineering in electronics products across 28 categories.
