Exclusive: Excalibur promotes Tow to MD and targets £25m annual revenue

Vodafone partner targets 25 per cent annual revenue rise for five years

Andy Tow has been promoted to MD of Vodafone Platinum Partner Excalibur Communications.

The former Avenir and Unique Distribution head, joined the Swindon dealer as chief commercial officer in October, but was last week named MD having set out ambitious growth plans to raise revenues from £7 million to £25 million

“Our growth targets are for a £25 million turnover (25 per cent year on year growth to 2015) business by selling IT and communications services” said Tow.

“A lot of it will come from up-selling and cross-selling to those 5,500 customers that don’t take all our products – there’s plenty to go at there.”

Strategic role

James Phipps will remain as CEO and take a more strategic role with Tow handling day-to- day operations at the company.

Excalibur posted revenues of £7 million for the year-ending January 31, 2014 and a net profit of £1.2 million

IT advantage

Excalibur claims to be the only mobile reseller in the UK with Microsoft Gold Partner status, which gives it a direct relation- ship with the company to resell its products.

Tow joins former Vodafone commercial director, Peter Boucher, on Excalibur’s board following his appointment in May 2014.

“We’ve been undergoing some changes. Bringing in Andy was to complete the best board of directors in any company in our industry,” Phipps told Mobile News.

“This will be one of the smallest ventures Andy has taken on in his career but that’s about signalling our intent.”
