BlackBerry rollouts out Passport software to rest of portfolio


BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 version began rolling out yesterday

BlackBerry (BB) has released a software update that brings the features that are available on the BB to the rest of its smartphone portfolio.

BB 10 OS 10.3.1, which is preloaded on the Passport, is now available for the Z30, Z3, Z10, Q10 and Q5, subject to operator approval in each region. It is also being released for its luxury smartphones, the Porsche Design P’9983 and P’9982.

The software includes BB Blend which allows messaging and content from BB handsets on their desktop computer or tablet, as well as calendars, contacts and media.

Also included are dual app stores (BB World and Amazon), its voice- and text- personal Assistant, BlackBerry Assistant, a power saving profile that can boost a user’s battery life by as much as 15 per cent, new camera and video software and collaboration software (BBM Meetings).
