Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy devices to go after mid-market
LG has become the first of the major manufacturers to reveal its hand ahead of Mobile World Congress 2015.
The Korean manufacturer will release four new handsets – Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy – this week, all of which will be on display on its stand at MWC 2015. The mid-range devices all have 4G connectivity and will initially be available in selected markets with UK pricing and availability yet to be announced.
Magna has the highest specifications of the released handsets and comes with a five-inch HD display, 1.2GHz processor, 8MP camera, 5MP front-facing, 8GB of internal memory, 1GB and a 2,540mAh battery.
The Spirit features the same processor, internal memory, RAM and rear camera. Differences with the Magna include a smaller 4.7-inch screen, a 2,100mAh battery, and 1MP front-facing camera.
The Leon differs with a 4.5-inch display, 0.3MP front-facing camera and a 1,900mAHh battery.
The bottom of the range, Joy, has a 4-inch screen, 5MP camera, 0.3MP front-facing snapper and a 1,900mAh battery.
All the handsets feature LG’s Gesture Shot which allows users to take ‘selfies’ using a handset gesture that starts a three-second countdown. LG says it has extended the range the gesture works at to 1.5m allow users to use selfie sticks.
