Operators to range new Microsoft devices


EE and Carphone Warehouse to offer Microsoft Lumia 640 and 640 XL while O2 confirms Lumia 640 available on pre-paid tariffs

EE and Carphone Warehouse have both confirmed they will offer the new Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL, which were both unveiled at Mobile World Congress today (March 2).

The 640 has a five-inch display, 8MP camera, a 1.2GHz processor and 2500mAh battery. It is priced at €139 for the 3G version and €159 for the 4G version.

A beefed up XL variant which comes with a 5.7-inch screen, 3000mAH battery and 13MP camera was also announced. It will be priced at €189 for the 3G version and €219 for the 4G handset.

O2 also confirmed that it will range the Lumia 640 but only on pre-paid tariffs.

A spokesperson for Three confirmed that the operator will be ranging the Lumia 640 but declined to reveal whether this would be available on pre-paid, contract or both.

None of the providers disclosed pricing or tariffs for either handset.
