BlackBerry announces £1400 Porsche handset


Handset designed by car manufacturer available to pre-order today from BB website

BlackBerry’s latest handset in its collaboration with Porsche has gone on sale today priced at £1400.

The P’9983 has been designed by the car manufacture and features a 3.1-inch 720×720 touchscreen, 8MP camera, 2MP front-facing, 2100mAh battery, 64GB of on-board storage, 2GB RAM and a 1.5GHz processor.

The handset is made from graphic-metallic coloured elements and has a hand-wrapped leather back cover. The keyboard is made from ‘glass-like’ keys with a 3D effect and ‘silver font’ characters.

It will begin shipping in a few weeks time and will also be available from luxury retailer, Harrods.

It comes with access to both the BlackBerry World and Amazon app stores and BlackBerry’s full suite of enterprise mobility management services.

Buyers of the phone will also receive a unique BBM Pin which gives them access to a Porsche Design PIN ID group.
