Chess Partner Services seals new long-term deal with O2


Distributor joins O2 Direct Partner Network which replaced Centre of Excellence programme on April 1

Chess Partner Services has signed a new long-term distribution agreement with O2.

The agreement, which will run for a minimum of five years, was effective from April 1 when the O2 Direct Partner Network replaced the operator’s Centre of Excellence programme.

Chess, also an EE airtime distributor, says the agreement will add “further muscle” to its portfolio which also includes fixed-line, mobile broadband, billing and more.

The distributor had previously revealed its new O2 commercial structure to its resellers which offers 45 per cent revenue share on new O2 contracts and 50 per cent on resigns.

This followed the launch of a new Elite Partner Programme last month. Through the scheme, the distributor claims that its base can earn a further £16,000 every year with a new commercial bonus structure and take part in a number of incentives to win cash, holidays and event tickets.

On the news of the long-term agreement, Chess Partner Services sales director John Pett said: “We are totally focussed on growing the business in 2015 and this new long-term agreement allows us to invest further in the plans we already launched in the last two months, such as the Elite Partner Program and the O₂ commercials.”

O2 head of partners Jason Phillips added: ‘I’m delighted that Chess has become part of the new O₂ Direct Partner Network.
