Vodafone service provider completes deal for cloud communications provider for undisclosed figure
Intercity Telecom has purchased cloud-communications company Gage Networks for an undisclosed sum.
The deal was completed through Intercity Networks which is a subsidiary of the Birmingham-based Vodafone service provider.
Gage has long-term strategic relationships with Vodafone, Polycom, Equinix, BT and PCCW to deliver cloud-based communications across its own private cloud and MPLS network.
It specialises in IP telephony and contact centre solutions, plus data centre services and global network solutions. It has both domestic and international clients.
As a privately-held company it does not disclose its financial figures but it is believed to have multi-million pound revenues.
“This is an exciting time for our business and we expect to make further strategic acquisitions over the coming years,” said Intercity Telecom chief executive officer Andrew Jackson.
“This acquisition will allow us to deliver an ambitious growth plan and move towards combined IT & Telecoms solutions to our customers, building on the global infrastructure that Gage Networks provides us.”
Gage Networks chief executive officer said: “There is a clear strategic alignment between our businesses and we look forward to combining our expertise to enhance our proposition for our customers and employees alike.
“With a shared vision and strong values, and by combining our expertise and resources, we will be able to provide a market-leading suite of IT and communications technologies for our existing and future customers.”
