The People’s Operator hits 30,000 subs and launches 31GB tariff

Charity MVNO more than doubles customer numbers in the past four months and unveils its biggest data offer yet for £19.99 on a 30-day rolling contract

The People’s Operator (TPO) has today hit 30,000 subscribers – more than doubling customer numbers since January. The MVNO, which runs off the EE network, launched in November 2012.

It is also also launching its biggest data offer yet to customers. ‘The Invincible’ SIM-only plan provides unlimited minutes and texts, and 31GB of 3G data on a 30-day rolling contract for £19.99 per month.

As with all of its tariffs, customers will be able to direct 10 per cent of what they spend to a charity of their choice.

The People’s Operator CEO Mark Epstein said: “We are going from strength to strength. In fact, we’ve exceeded our targets and with this latest deal we are offering customers even more value and choice on a UK mobile deal that makes a difference.”

Chairman and executive director of strategy Jimmy Wales added: “It’s great to know that people really do want a mobile network that not only delivers on price and performance, but that delivers for great causes.

“Reaching 30,000 people on TPO so quickly is fantastic, and it is really still just the beginning with the US launch just around the corner.”
