Both get Vodafone Platinum ranking after smashing targets
Vodafone partners Connect Telecom and Qualitel Voice and Data have been promoted from Gold to Platinum Partner status with the operator following a review of its dealer tiering.
Belfast-based Connect Telecom was promoted after achieving total Vodafone billings of £7.2 million for the year-ending March 31 while Qualitel posted total Vodafone revenues of £4 million. It is believed that no Platinum Partners were cut.
Speaking to Mobile News following confirmation of the status, Connect Telecom sales director Robin Brown (pic left) said the company wanted to double its 13,000 strong connection base over the next 12 months by leveraging the increased support the status, the first of its kind in NI, will offer.
“We’re the first in Northern Ireland to have that status – it will be an increase in finances from Vodafone to fund deals and realistically there will be no-one else in NI able to achieve the tiering,” he said. “We now have dedicated account managers for mobile and One Net Business that will be working with us directly. We were the top ONB dealer in the UK last year and already have a further 900 seats waiting to be installed.”
The company also plans to grow its business in Scotland and Northern England where it already has a number of customers.
Qualitel, which was purchased by telecoms reseller Elitetele.com last year, says it will be looking to capitalise on its award by growing its sales staff by 50 per cent to 15 and increasing their expertise. It currently manages 8,000 Vodafone connections.
Qualitel MD Mike Ridgway added: “We posted positive base growth and are looking for more of the same next year.
“We are adding more sales heads and are upskilling existing staff in One Net, fixed-line and connectivity.”
