Advert shows former stars receive help with the correct pronunciation of ‘Huawei’ as foreign player surnames
Former Arsenal football club stars John Hartson, Ray Parlour and Nigel Winterburn have taken part in a light humoured Huawei advert showing the difficulties of pronouncing international names.
The three minute ad, an indirect joke about the difficulties in pronouncing Huawei, see’s the former players (now pundits) sitting in a class-room receiving tips on ways to pronounce more difficult player surnames.
Examples shown in the video include current Arsenal stars; Wojciech Szczensy, Laurent Koscielny and Serge Gnarby.
The advert ends with the ‘class’ being asked to pronounce Huawei, written on the board as ‘Wah-Way’.
Huawei has been an official global sponsor for the North London club since January last year, with its branding appearing at the teams Emirates Stadium and has even released an official Arsenal smartphone.
