Get Connected continues store expansion

EE retailer Get Connected is to open two new stores this week that will take total shop numbers across the UK to 60.

The new outlets will be located in Malvern, Worcestershire and Abergavenny, Monmouthshire – the same Welsh town the firm’s headquarters are located in. It also marks a return to Abergavenny after Get Connected closed its shop there six months ago following the expiration of the lease on the property.

Both of the new shops will come with the new look Get Connected is implementing in its stores to make them feel “more homely” for visiting customers.

The retailer is spending more than £500,000 on the store refit programme and since February, 10 shops have undergone the work, taking on average nine days each to refit. The most recent stores to be refitted have been in Hereford and Ross-on-Wye.

Get Connected managing director Damian Cole said: “Business is slowly picking up so we are opening new stores to follow that trend. We don’t have a set number of how many we would like to open but will explore the opportunity to do so if and when that arises.”
