BlackBerry has appointed Cisco veteran Carl Weise as its new head of global sales.

Weise, who spent 12 years at Cisco heading technology sales and later overseeing its product sales division, replaces John Sims, who has now left the manufacturer.

BlackBerry refused disclose the reasons behind Sim’s departure after 18 months overseeing global sales at the Canadian firm.
