Seven new price plans will launch in September priced between £5 and £20 per month
GiffGaff is introducing 4G as standard to all of its pre-paid tariffs in an attempt to simplify its mobile “goodybags”.
The O2-owned MVNO will launch seven new plans costing between £5 and £20 per month, starting in September.
It is also getting rid of its unlimited data tariff that previously offered uncapped 3G data for £20 per month, and replacing it with an “Always On” model which will give access to 4G speeds for jus the first 6GB, before throttling the connection speed to 256kps – significantly less than the 20mbps offered by 4G.
On its community forum, GiffGaff explained its new plans and thanked customers for giving feedback. It said: “Thank you again for your help in shaping the new range. The priority is to give you better speeds with 4G, a simpler great value goodybag range and peace of mind for those who want Always On data.
“We are sending an email to update everyone on what’s changing and for members with goodybags we will follow that up with Best Plan Advice to help you decide what’s best for you once we’ve launched the new goodybags.
“To confirm, the new range will be available from 2nd September.”
