Vodafone Connect goes on sale across the UK

Consumer broadband speeds of up to 76Mbps now available to Vodafone’s existing customer baseVodafone’s consumer broadband proposition “Connect” has gone on sale to existing customers today (August 12), the operator announced.

The broadband service, which offers speeds up to 76Mbps, was officially launched on June 10 with an initial rollout in Manchester, Berkshire and parts of Hampshire and Surrey, but has now been made available across the whole of the UK.

Vodafone said its fibre network reaches exchanges that pass 22 million premises in the UK, with the service being provided to homes via a plug-and-play Vodafone router. It will be available to non-Vodafone customers later this year.

There are three speed options available: Broadband ADSL (up to 17Mbps) for £10 a month, Superfast Fibre Broadband (up to 38Mbps) for £20 a month and Superfast Fibre+ Broadband (up to 76Mbps) for £25 a month.

Existing Vodafone customers will receive £5 off the standard broadband price every month and for the first 12 months it will be discounted to half price, which Vodafone claims makes it one of the best value broadband and home packages in the UK.

Line rental costs £16.99 a month. Every customer receives inclusive evening and weekend calls, while Vodafone Red mobile contract customers will get inclusive anytime calls to landlines, plus 300 free minutes to mobile numbers.

Customers are also provided with the option of online security. F-Secure SAFE is free for the first six months for up to five devices and then £39.99 a year (RRP £79.99).

Vodafone said that once a customer orders its broadband service, and has informed their previous provider, it will coordinate everything from transferring the service from the old provider to setting up the connection with it.

It added this launch builds on the success of its fixed broadband services across 12 European countries, where it claimed to be one of the largest providers with more than 11 million subscribers.

Vodafone UK consumer director Cindy Rose said: “We started our broadband journey with an exclusive offer available only to a few Vodafone customers. We have now extended this to all our millions of customers as our way of saying thank you for their loyalty.”
