Eight models of the tablet on sale at retailers including Currys/PC World, Argos, Tesco and Amazon
The new ASUS ZenPad can now be purchased from a variety of UK retailers, including Tesco, Argos and Amazon.
ASUS claims the new ZenPad is the first tablet that allows users to customise their device with different back covers, providing extra features and colour options. The Zen Case cover, which comes in five different colours, adds a leather material to the tablet’s rear. Audio Cover adds a 5.1-channel surround sound speaker, whilst the Power Case cover extends the tablet’s battery life to 16 hours of usage.
The tablet is also equipped with ASUS Tru2Life technology, which ASUS claims helps boosts the quality and detail of images and videos seen on screen. The ZenPad also uses ASUS TruVivid technology, which improves screen clarity, brightness and responsiveness when touching the screen.
ASUS says the ZenPad is the world’s first tablet to use DTS-HD Premium Sound, which helps it deliver ‘theatre-quality audio.’ The ZenPad is also available with an optional stylus pen designed for sketching or painting.
Up to eight models of the ZenPad are available, each with different specs. The ZenPad at the bottom of the range, for example, has a seven-inch screen, 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, weighs 270 grams and is available in black, white, red or ‘Aurora Metallic.’ Top-of-the-range ZenPads come with a 10-inch screen, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, weight 500 grams and come in either black or ‘Aurora Metallic.’
